Animal Welfare 2020
October 2, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Exchange thoughts and ideas with other fashion retail professionals and sustainability experts. This month’s theme is ‘Animal Welfare’
Animal welfare in fashion can spark strong reactions. While some call for zero tolerance to using animals to make fashion items, others argue that most alternatives are oil-based and worse for the environment. Still others claim that it is wrong to not use what is otherwise thrown away – think wool or hides from animals used for agriculture. Does fashion that respects animal welfare always require a compromise?
Join us for our next Share & Connect Round Table on the theme of Animal Welfare to exchange thoughts and ideas with other members and experts. In an atmosphere of pre-competitive collaboration, we will address the following questions:
- In how far should we strive to stop using animal-sourced fashion altogether? In light of the alternatives available, is it feasible and desirable?
- What are the most valuable standards and certifications around animal welfare? Do they provide enough assurance and transparency for buyers and business owners?
- Which pioneering businesses and organisations are leading the way in driving industry-wide change around animal welfare in fashion?
At our round tables, each expert brings his/her own experience, expertise and passion. Together, we can all come out smarter and more inspired to develop better systems and solutions.
Join the conversation on: Friday the 2nd of October at 13:00 CET (Rome, Paris, Zurich, Berlin), via Zoom.
