The Human Side of Sustainability
February 24 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pmFree
In our drive to improve our environmental footprint, how can we ensure that we consider the human side of sustainability too?
More than 60 million workers are employed in the garment, textile and footwear industry worldwide. It is no secret that many of these are working in sub-par circumstances. They are often paid minimal amounts that barely suffice to feed their families. Millions of people have to work in unsafe conditions, unhealthy environments while being bonded to their work in one way or another. It doesn’t have to be that way.
In this panel discussion, we will bring together experts and leaders from admirable brands seeking to collaborate with supply chain partners to support the workers in the global fashion value chain. Some are already among industry leaders in their workforce policies, others have just embarked on the journey. All of them are united in their desire to ensure that the makers along the value chain are given the opportunity to flourish through their work.
Join us for an insightful panel discussion on the obstacles and opportunities of the human side of sustainability. Among others, we will discuss:
- What type of approaches can be taken to better support workers in the value chain?
- How can companies ensure that, in putting in place practices better for the environment, social aspects are considered too?
This panel discussion will be broadcast live on Linked-in. Register to get reminders and your link to listen in.
